Katelyn Joy Derstine Scholarship

Katelyn Joy Derstine, 20, died June 15, 2006. She was an Environmental Horticulture major student at the University of Florida. Katelyn loved butterflies. Butterfly gardens have been established as a living tribute to her. A special website and Scholarship have been established in her honor.

From the first moment I saw this cloud, I immediately did a double take. The angel image was so obvious to me. I photographed it in July 2001 after an intense thunderstorm over the Gulf of Mexico in Sarasota, Florida. The clouds are a beautiful reflection of the handiwork of God. Little did I know at the time of taking this photo that the meaning would change so much just 2-1/2 years later, as shown here.
